Senior Project Manager/ Project Director

North East based – travel to UK projects required

£50,000 - £70,000 (depending on skills and experience) + Company vehicle + 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays)

Due to an exciting time of business growth; we have an opportunity for an experienced and qualifiedSeniorProject Manager/ Project Directorto join our senior leadership team.

Reporting to our Managing Director and leading UK renewable energy projects, this role will play a key role in the expansion, growth, performance, and service of our clients and team.

Responsible for leading both in-house teams and subcontractors; the successful candidate will take responsibility for all aspects of project strategy and delivery including growth, processes, change, best practice, planning, budgeting, and delivery to contribute to the UK’s low carbon ambitions.

Other responsibilities will include –

  • Leading project acquisition activities across the business
  • Implementing positive and long-term business improvement and cultural change
  • Designing and leading re:heat’s process for enhancing best practice methods, systems, and internal tools and templates for successful and efficient project management across all growing accounts and clients
  • Building teams across diverse stakeholder organisations to deliver successful projects
  • Leading successful client relationships during the project process ensuring potential issues are identified and addressed in a timely and effective manner
  • Leading and completing site audits, applying a pro-active management approach of Health and Safety on all sites and ensuring best practice methods are followed
  • Managing internal and external resources, including contractors and advisors, necessary for the delivery of projects
  • Leading the commercial and technical delivery from the initial project briefing, contracting and installation phases and overall commercial operations
  • Inspiring, motivating, guiding, and growing the capacity and capability of new and existing team members for performance excellence
  • Keeping track of the financial performance of the projects against the assigned budgets, supporting and problem solving any possible deviations
  • Advising and working with the re:heat Directors to identify, monitor, report, and build opportunities for future business pipeline
  • Performing associated project administrative activities such as preparing invoices, quotes, and coordination tasks – when required
  • Supporting the creation of tender specification documentation and reviewing and responding to tender responses
  • Ensuring the safe and successful delivery of heating assets as required
  • Liaising with the Engineering team to ensure the effective handover into the operational phase

The successful candidate will have–

  • A qualification in Project Management
  • Proven knowledge and experience in construction, mechanical or electrical projects
  • Experience, knowledge, and exposure to Quantity Surveying desirable
  • Previous experience of managing large projects with multiple team members, external advisors and contractors
  • Experience of building new relationships and converting new business in a relevant field
  • Commercially and financially astute
  • Extensive experience of building strong, cooperative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to successfully reach project delivery

A full driving license is essential.
