Our rapidly growing Pall site in Ilfracombe is recruiting for a Senior Projects Engineer to develop and lead a small team of project engineers/technicians to achieve site agreed goals and implement new equipment’s on time and within budget.

This exciting role is for Senior Project engineers who have experience in developing and delivering process equipment, has an eye for detail and can work on their own initiative and drive the team to solve problems all in a regulated environment and to tight deadlines in order to meet our customers

Main Duties:
  • Provide support and mentorship to Engineering and Technical team for all activity within remit.
  • Responsibility for individual team’s return to works, Absence etc
  • Daily Engineering activities and support to each project within remit
  • Advise on machinery or component costs, i.e. spare parts, new equipment, tooling.
  • Identify and rationalise Capital Projects (CAPEX)
  • Control spend for Engineering projects within own team
  • Produce and maintain budget for the Fiscal Year as per agreed plan Develop, Purchase and introduce new machinery using FAT/IQOQ/PQ validation process including generation of this documentation
  • Ability to prepare and present reports, understand how to generate data and how to analyse using statistical tools to justify equipment meets requirements.
  • Maintain efficient working teams to meet agreed goals.
  • Generate Production documentation including Specifications, Training Instructions and PDS’
  • Utilise DBS tools & techniques to demonstrate good project management to meet end goal
  • Hold regular reviews/updates at all levels on projects inc. individual reviews on progress
  • Project manage capital projects from initial concept through to successful completion and control the budgets
  • Develop team as part of development goals and create succession plans
  • Collaborate closely with subcontract toolmakers, machine builders in manufacture of jigs and fixtures & new equipment
  • Liaise and hold accountable vendors to enable accurate completion of projects.
  • Create and own Training program/ plans for Technicians and Engineering Staff within team.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • Min 5 years experience managing projects within a relevant field
  • Working knowledge of different manufacturing processes, build reviews, Problem solving, validation procedures (FAT, IQOQPQ) and final production hand over on time to meet the customer demands.
  • Hands on experience in Manufacturing Engineering/ Projects Engineering Department with a mechanical bias
  • Able to mentor and supervise a team of Engineers and Technicians
  • Confident liaising with vendors, design engineers and suppliers
  • Experience of working in regulated environment and can show experience in delivering projects on time by taking a hands on approach, able to make decisions either by leading a team, as part of a team or as an individual.
  • New equipment project management preferred but not essential
  • Ideally suited to working in a fast past project engineering/new equipment build environment and achieving tight deadlines agreed in order to fulfill the customers’ expectations.
  • Excellent Problem-solving skills
  • Proven Project management experience
  • Proven experience in leading teams
  • Validation/Machine pass off experience essential
  • Able to create & complete Engineering reports & validation documents
  • Experience in working in a Regulated environment
  • Minitab / statistical software experience preferred
  • AutoCAD experience desirable
  • VPM experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor a small team of engineer/technicians to achieve goals
  • Take ownership of projects within remit
  • Provide regular progress updates to leadership
  • Drive team to achieve goals and develop team as part of succession plans
Essential Qualifications/Education:
  • Degree in Project engineering role, Mechanical Engineering or similar related subject area OR equivalent experience
