Sitting within the Design Function of the Capital Design and Delivery Department, this role will be accountable for determining the techniques, templates, tools and processes required to establish and improve the departments design standards specifically related to mechanical engineering.

Reporting to the Design Excellence Lead, this role will explore the opportunity to adopt new techniques and technologies for the capital programme. With significant technical mechanical experience at leadership level, you will set, maintain, and raise the standards within the design function. You will design training programmes, develop our junior talent, drive innovation and act as the ‘go-to’ person for all mechanical related queries within the design function.

This role can be based from our Coventry, Derby or Shrewsbury offices.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You will have experience in providing technical leadership to a large programme of capital works, with a strong ability to lead input into multiple projects. You will have experience of leading a team of mechanical engineers, with a background in mechanical design from feasibility through detailed design, construction and commissioning. Ideally with experience in the water industry, you will be a technical expert in all things mechanical.
