Are you a podiatrist with a broad clinical experience in wound care and MSK? An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Podiatrist to join our team in Newbury, where we may consider part time applicants or those keen on working “9-day fortnights”.

Our Podiatry services offer care to patients at risk who suffer from metabolic, vascular or neurological disorders, e.g. diabetes that place the lower limb in a compromised situation. You will become a key member of our locality podiatry team having significant clinical NHS experience (post registration) with a highly developed knowledge of the treatment of the high risk foot in particular patients with vascular neurological or metabolic conditions such as diabetes. You will be required to work independently in clinics hospitals GP practices and other settings, providing high quality clinical care in accordance with the service criteria.

You will have responsibility for the clinical management and administration of a main clinic site. This may involve the day-to-day supervision of other podiatrists; podiatry hygienists and other support staff.

About The Job
  • Responsible for the clinical management and administration of referrals for the caseload of clinic and housebound patients
  • Includes working independently in clinics, hospitals, and patient homes
  • There is a wound care and offloading focus within the role, and you will liaise closely members of the wider podiatry team and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care is given to these patients
  • Assess, diagnose, develop, and implement individual treatment plans for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs
  • Nail surgery sessions will also be a requirement for this post
  • You will deputise for the Podiatry team leader where required and undertake supervision of other staff and ensure smooth operational day to day running of the clinic
Working pattern + Service operating hours
  • The Team’s current operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 5.15pm but we encourage you to get in touch if you wish to enquire about flexible working
  • It may also be possible to work 9-day fortnights whereby you complete your full-time hours over a 2-week window in 9 working days, providing you with a “non-working day” every fortnight

The 5 “must haves”for you to be considered for this role:
  • Degree level qualification in podiatry (or equivalent) & Registration with the HCPC as a podiatrist
  • Local anaesthetic certificate
  • Able to supervise other Podiatrists and other Podiatry staff within their roles.
  • Significant post qualification clinical experience in Diabetic and other high-risk patient management within an NHS setting
  • Car driver & possess full UK driver’s license or evidence of ability to travel to designated base & other sites; ability to travel independently between multiple sites to fulfil the requirements of the position
