Fixed-term / *Secondment opportunity for 6 months due to funding.

  • Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The Candidate should then take it with them to interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.

There has been a substantial increase in the pharmacy workforce across NHS Forth Valley, particularly in primary care. It is expected that this increase will continue with the new GMS contract, and the delivery of pharmacotherapy services as part of this. Further to this with the national strategic transformation of hospital pharmacy services, there will be an ongoing need to upskill the pharmacy workforce.

The Pharmacy Leadership Team are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to work and scope out the opportunities to support the development and implementation of our education, training vision for all pharmacy staff across Forth Valley. This will ensure that all pharmacy staff are appropriately trained and developed from their early career through to advanced practice.

The successful postholder will advise on and help the Pharmacy Leadership team implement local recommendations for progressing the pharmacy education and training infrastructure across FV.

It is essential that you have a Masters of Pharmacy Degree and are a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council. You should have a postgraduate degree or equivalent, be a qualified independent prescriber and have relevant post-registration experience of pharmacy practice. You will also have good clinical knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good IT skills. You must have prior experience of teaching and mentoring staff and have excellent organisational and motivational skills.
