Salary is£36,438 to £43,061 per annum inclusiveof London Allowanceand HR on-cost (pro rata for fixed term- 7 months)

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Paralegal in the Legal Advice Centre (Department of Law and Criminology, School of Law and Social Sciences).

The Legal Advice Centre was set up in January 2020 and has rapidly expanded since opening its services. The Legal Advice Centre has over 40 student volunteers, and we provide free legal advice and information services to the local community and beyond. Our Legal Advice Centre has several clinics and projects, including a forthcoming Business Clinic. The students gain invaluable practical legal experience, as well as giving back to the community.

You will assist the Director/Supervising Solicitor of the Legal Advice Centre with the delivery of legal training sessions to student volunteers, supervise students during client interviews/advice letters, as well as assist the Director with any regulatory legal administrative duties.

You will have a law degree (or GDL) and must have undertaken the Legal Practice Course. You must have experience working as a paralegal and have a working knowledge of the professional regulatory standards, including data protection rules. You will have experience in working in a fast-moving legal environment, as well as experience interviewing clients and drafting legal documents. Experience (including voluntary) within a not-for-profit organisation would be desirable.
