We are currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager to create a culture to deliver, empower and optimise performance across our Droitwich Dairy. The successful candidate will provide effective leadership across the day to day production operations (Milk intake, Processing, ETP, Bottle Supply, Milk & Cream Production) and be responsible for the sites Muller Excellence strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops the site operations vision in line with business strategy (1year & 3 year)
  • Lead a continuous improvement culture that supports the implementation of the vision
  • Drives site KPI’s to create best in class operations
  • Develops, coaches and mentors team (champions 9 box models & site succession planning)
  • Ensures clear accountabilities and responsibilities are in place to deliver site strategy
  • Ensures adequate resources are available to deliver the strategy in line with business goals and targets
  • Drives quality compliance and improvement to meet business targets
  • Ensures effective systems (Inc PMS) and resources are in place to deliver:- Health, Safety and Environment compliance and improvement to meet business targets
  • Reliable daily attainment of production plan and project management
  • Ensure company policies and standards are implemented effectively and efficiently
  • Effective cost management and cost competitiveness
  • Customer Standards in collaboration with Technical Manager
  • Supports the creation of annual site budget in line with company processes and procedures
  • To develop an ongoing cost competitive improvement plan in line with the Operations vision and business requirements (CIC) including capital investment (deliver minor projects and support major projects)

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working within a high volume, complex manufacturing environment
  • Effective problem solving skills and ability to work under own initiative in a high speed environment
  • Knowledge of Liquid filling & Processing
  • Experience of Lean/TPM/World Class Manufacturing
  • Significant experience in leading and developing a team
  • Lean Sigma Green Belt (or demonstrated capability)
  • Experience in Project management including budgets
  • Knowledge of Supply chain functions, including Warehousing & Planning is (Desired)
  • Knowledge of BRC & Tesco PIU standard is (Desired)
  • Knowledge of quality standards and effect of incident on quality
  • Effective team worker, influencer and communicator
  • High in enthusiasm & passion
