The Opportunity

Based in Winchester, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our creative and friendly Winchester Building Engineering Group.

Our work focuses on technical buildings for which engineering drives the overall building design. We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer who is looking to provide designs for a wide range of projects including hospitality, arenas, laboratories, hospitals and healthcare facilities, data centres, education, energy and commercial projects with a technical focus. We deliver cutting edge projects with a strong focus on sustainability which helps facilitate the transition to net-zero carbon.

We work on a variety of exciting projects, both in the UK and internationally. Some of these include:

  • Gordon Murray Design design and prototype facility
  • Hampshire Fire & Rescue Fire Stations
  • St. Sidwells Leisure Centre, Exeter. The first Passivhaus certified leisure centre in the UK.
  • Data Centres (The UK, across Europe and Africa), Hotels (globally) and Healthcare projects (e.g. Southampton Hospital, New Jersey Hospital)
  • West Slope, University of Sussex

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for people who:

  • Are Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Masters or equivalent and working toward Chartership status through CIBSE, IMechE or other relevant body; or working towards Chartership with a Masters’ in Engineering or equivalent
  • Have a wide knowledge of the design of mechanical building systems including coordination, spatial planning and energy performance of buildings. Developing concepts, appraising and recommending optimum design solutions.
  • Have experience with site-based projects.
  • Have experience supervising and providing technical mentorship to Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of Revit MEP.
