At Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding, we manage the entire cruise shipbuilding process, from the initial business opportunity to post-delivery warranty, and everything in between for Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest cruise company. To enable Corporate Shipbuilding to be the centre of excellence we aspire to be, we are looking for a Master Data Senior Manager to join our Technical and Asset Management team.

Working as part of the Central Data Management Team the Master Data Senior Manager will be responsible for governing the accuracy of our corporate data enabling analytics and trending of corporate asset management data to implement key strategic improvements. This role is responsible for Carnival Corporation-wide data quality, data curation and governance of data whilst overseeing the operational arm of the Maritime Asset Strategy Transformation (MAST) program for core and referential data which crosses business segments and functions for the whole of Carnival Corporation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Being responsible for the data owned by Carnival Corporation across the standardised Asset Management System. Data includes, but not limited to, asset types, maintenance, stock and all associated registers.
  • Being responsible for ensuring the data is consistent across the Corporation, including naming conventions / taxonomies.
  • Working with business stakeholders to identify solutions on data issues.
  • Being responsible for data quality owned by Carnival Corporation.
  • Ensuring effective governance of data owners and brand representatives.
  • Being responsible for the development and implementation of data standards, business rules, policies and procedures relating to all asset management data.
  • Driving strategic master data enhancement initiatives across the Corporation in collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as IT, to drive our strategic data enhancement initiatives.
  • Managing and implementing strategic training plans and training materials, as well as coordinating all training activities related to data governance.
  • Being responsible for maintaining and identifying improvements to the supporting tools, including, but not limited to, the Mobile Data Management (MDM) solution.

About you:

You will:

  • Be qualified to degree level or have equivalent experience.
  • Have proven experience of generating insight from business/web analytics data.
  • Have strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Have substantial experience in managing technical data teams and/or projects and managing database environments and quality.

ISO55000 accreditation or Licenced Marine Engineer qualifications are desirable.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in use of master data management systems.
  • Experience in SQL; querying database environments.
  • Expert in MS Office programs, specifically Excel.

Experience of the following is desirable:

  • Experience with new build process and operational set up of large passenger vessels.
  • Experience in maintenance management systems and ISO standards.
  • Detailed knowledge of planned maintenance systems as related to maintenance, inventory and procurement functions.
  • Experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)/Risk based methodology.
