Y ou will guide the team to support the delivery of vehicles offering world class refinement, off road capability & safety performance.THE ROLEKey Responsibilities- You will coordinate and maintain a strategic plan identifying and addressing future CAE needs.
- Determine the resource profile and skill set to deliver the on cycle and off cycle demands and develop the team to deliver to those commitments.
- You will be technically curious and capable of effectively engaging with all levels of the business in communicating the challenges and opportunities presented by the CAE toolset.
- Collaborating with several areas within JLR, facilitating a deeper understanding of the potential impact on the product development cycle as a whole.
- Prevent performance issue reoccurrence from previous vehicle programmes by driving priorities for Core off cycle team.
- Work to reduce CAE model build time by supporting a transformation strategy with key stakeholders with the ultimate vision of delivering the continuum which enables quick analysis feedback and reduces late design change.
- You will guide and support the Body CAE program teams in their program delivery milestones and ensure you continually look to improve the approach of the team to meet and exceed their customers’ expectations.
- Resourcing a team capable of delivering to the agreed cycle plan in the most efficient and effective for JLR.
- Ensure a quality of approach that reduces the surprises at VB.
- Responsible for creating an environment of continuous improvement in capability & skill set of the team.

- In-depth knowledge of CAE tools in particular Crash NVH and durability.
- Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders.
- Extensive CAE technical and programme leadership experience at an engineering OEM.
- Extensive experience working in the concept, delivery, and launch phases of vehicle programmes.
- Extensive multi-attribute analytical experience, including optimisation techniques and robustness studies.
- Extensive experience in developing multi-attribute design solution that perform.
- Previous experience in solving complex technical problems cross CoC.
- Strong test engineering experience.
- Strong engineering first principal skills and capability to conduct hand calculations.
- Technical understanding of vehicle design verification and manufacturer.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Competent in the use of CAE software to interrogate FE models / results.
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
