Applications are invited for this post, based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH), for the clinical management of paediatric endocrine disorders. The Paediatric Endocrinology service at RMCH, is the largest paediatric endocrine service in the UK. The service includes nationally commissioned Congenital Hyperinsulinism and Hypophosphatasia services. The Fellowship post is for fixed term for 6 months to cover a gap on service of the current fellow.

The Fellow will gain clinical experience in paediatric endocrinology and metabolic bone disease. He/she will play a key role in the management of endocrine patients, with responsibility for inpatient and outpatient care. In addition, the post holder will be expected to participate in quality improvement projects (QIP), audit and endocrine research.

Each doctor will have a named Educational Supervisor Study / exam leave together with financial support available for suitable study courses on request.

1. Management endocrine inpatients
2. Undertaking outpatient clinics under supervision
3. Undertaking ward rounds
4. Supporting management of endocrine patients admitted in the day case unit
5. Be part of on call rota for paediatrics at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital
6. Taking part in continuous professional development activities
7. Undertaking quality improvement projects and protocol development
8. Appraisal at start and at the end of 6 months tenure
