About the role

The Senior Lecturer - Military Education is a new role within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing. The purpose of this role is to teach knowledge and skills in a range of settings and to facilitate the integration of students’ theoretical and clinical practice with their academic studies. The post holder will be required to be the programme leader for the Certificate in Higher Education - Health and build partnerships with the Defence Medical Academy, Defence Medical Services and other key areas. Innovative practice will be required to develop new programmes to support the education of serving personnel, Service leavers, veterans and their families.

The ideal candidate will have served as a regular or reservist within the medical services and hold a first degree or equivalent professional experience. You will hold current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council. You should have an understanding of current trends in teaching and learning and significant experience of working with the military. If you do not possess a PGCE or Higher Education Academy Fellowship status, you must be willing to undertake them within two years of commencing the role.
