Becoming a Senior Learning and Development Manager with RPP:

As the Senior L&D Manager you will lead the Training, Learning and Development function, reporting into the Head of People and Communications. The functions provides learning solutions to all teams in the Recruitment Partnership Project (RPP) across the Country for both civilian military personnel and to some external teams.

You will contribute to our commitment to the growth and development of our people, enabling RPP to optimise potential and deliver a world class service.



What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and drive the delivery of the Training, Learning and Development Strategy and plan to build employee capabilities, develop leaders and retain key talent to meet business objectives.
  • Lead the partnership with the business to understand their L&D needs and create pragmatic solutions that can be implemented across the business.
  • Lead the Training, Learning and Development Team and drive their performance to achieve high standards that support induction and onboarding, basic role training, continuous development and succession planning.
  • Oversee the development and use of tools to support the employee lifecycle, i.e. competency framework, learner journeys, personal development plans, L&D catalogue
  • Manage the communication plan to promote learning opportunities and drive a culture of personal ownership
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives i.e. mentoring and apprenticeship programmes.



What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience of improving organisation capability through the development and delivery of a training, learning and development programme
  • Effective leadership, management and interpersonal skills; experience of managing a team
  • Experience of managing the effective delivery of on-line learning solutions and a wide range of methods
  • Commercially aware: understands the needs of the business and how learning and development activities will add value
  • Proven experience of engaging and managing stakeholders at a variety of levels; ability to engage, challenge and inspire
  • Can use initiative to prioritise and manage time effectively, along with a sense of urgency and professionalism
  • CIPD/TAP qualified or equivalent
