About This Role

This role is a key role in the Colleague Services Senior Management Team. In Colleague Services we own all of BT’s employee productivity and collaboration tools, webtop and devices, security software and authentication and identity platforms. The innovative end user technology that we deliver to our business helps our employees provide a brilliant customer experience.

The role holder will run the engineering teams responsible for software development of colleague portals, Group email, Sharepoint, Active Directory and Azure AD, Teams AV and Live Events, Digital Signage and Citrix Xen App and VDA solutions, alongside the full suite of Office 365 services. All are used across the business by 160,000 employees, sub-contractors and partners.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities
  • Lead a unit of approximately 60 IT engineers, software engineers and technical platform specialists and be a key member of the Colleague Services Senior Management Team
  • Accountable for service reliability across the Colleague Services platforms and portals. Continually improving service and its efficiency
  • Manage end to end service involving multiple partners and vendors. Own the quality-of-service relationship with Microsoft for our Enterprise Agreement
  • Accountable for mitigation of security vulnerabilities and adherence to security standards and compliance. Including ICOFR (financial controls)
  • Deliver application support cost transformation with automation, adoption of DevOps toolsets and an SRE culture
  • Prioritise people engagement, team collaboration and cross function working to deliver an amazing digital and colleague experience for the whole of BT Group
  • Deliver on our “shift to cloud” strategy. Leading the teams migrating services into Microsoft Azure, 365, Citrix Cloud and Service Now for colleague services
  • Experience migrating end user services to Service Now. Includes leading a team of Service Now automation engineers
  • Experience leading agile teams using Kanban and Scrum
You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as an IT Operations and Transformation leader at Enterprise scale
  • Experience of managing a transformation roadmap of the existing portfolio and/or estate, including cost, process, and policies
  • Able to show responsibility for operational run costs for a unit, forecasting future projects and delivering on efficiencies and allocated and directed a budget for a large project/operational expenditure
  • Have experience in managing teams that are going through change and have experience in coaching and driving high performance
  • Communicated business strategy to multiple audiences, including C level executives
  • Experience of solving high impact, complex problems
  • Collaborated on a new project with a recognised expert
