THE ROLE

We are looking for a Global Integration Architect that will join the Strategy & Enterprise Architecture Team. You will design the interface between application systems, including those developed in house, packaged software, and third-party-hosted applications, so that they function holistically in support of the organization’s business needs.

You will create new applications or improve existing ones to meet current and future business needs. You will evaluate existing and future application technologies and make recommendations for best uses for your area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the future integration strategy, roadmaps and architecture aligning the with the business strategies and obtaining senior consensus across the organization
  • Works with the business and IT stakeholders to develop the integration architecture and roadmap
  • Contributes to the development of integration solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure, or functional areas.
  • Evaluating internal functions, business development strategies, and IT processes and suggesting improvements.
  • Creating business architecture models to reflect the organization’s strategies, vision and goals.
  • Engagement at a strategic level, influencing policy, and setting direction for technical and business change
  • A broad IT and Enterprise Architecture background, with experience of using and defining integration patterns
  • Development and ownership of EA strategies and roadmaps from a business and technology perspective, including ‘as-is’, ‘to-be’ and transitional states
  • The ability to develop, document and establish architectural principles, policies, standards and reference architectures
  • The ability to simplify complex and technical information by using appropriate and accessible language for non-technical audiences
  • Capable of guiding the decision-making process, explaining trade-offs and making a recommendation based on all the available information
  • An overall perspective on business issues, events and activities, and an understanding of their wider implications and long-term impact
  • An understanding of how all parts of the business model work together including processes, operating models, and application architecture
  • Deliver a series of complex integration projects across the enterprise
  • Ensure that application software is effectively and efficiently designed, produced and tested and it meets business requirements
  • Understand organization’s business processes, systems, tools, regulations and structure and how they interrelate to provide products and services that create value for customers
  • Oversee the design process for application software as well as continuous improvement initiatives
  • Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products
  • Supports a change program or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).
  • Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability. Supports monitoring of the external environment and assessment of emerging technologies to evaluate the potential impacts, threats and opportunities to the organization.
  • Document and clearly present solutions to internal stakeholders including business and technical design authorities
  • Evaluate potential risks and defects, analyze specifications and customize applications for specific customers
  • Define and manage the technology governance processes for the Application landscape.
  • Produce documents relating to application architecture, design steps, integration processes and testing procedures relating to each product developed
  • Provide technical support and training. Actively maintain knowledge within allocated specialism
Qualifications
  • Solid experience in a role of a solution/application architect or senior developer
  • Proven integration experience
  • Experience integrating into largescale ERP environments i.e. SAP and Oracle
  • Fluent in English.
  • B.Sc. degree with major in IT, computer science or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles and frameworks, protocols and API’s
  • Practical experience translating business strategy into technology roadmaps
  • Working knowledge of SAP applications
  • Results oriented with the ability to maintain focus on objectives in a multi-task demanding environment.
  • Good problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team
  • Experience in integration platform eg MuleSoft, iWay, IBM Webshphere Message bus or equivalent
  • Either have one or more (or willing to achieve) professional IT qualifications such as CITP, TOGAF, ArchiMate, Enterprise and Solution Architecture (BCS), Certified Solutions Architect (AWS or Azure), Integration Vendor Certified (MuleSoft, IBM, Oracle etc..)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with RESTful API’s
  • Knowledge and experience of modern and evolving technologies like IoT, Blockchain, AI, ML, GraphQL etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of EA tools. (Archi, SparxEA etc..)
  • Experience of EDI, Incl. Protocols, standards, VAN’s, e-Invoicing
  • Experience in modern cloud platforms e.g. Azure Serverless and container technologies
  • Familiarity with data platforms, warehouses, reporting and visualization tools. (SQL server, Databricks and PowerBI
