Hywel Dda University Health Board’s ICT department has embarked on an exciting investment to refresh its network and telephony across all its sites with the latest Cisco and Mitel technologies. We require a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Networks) to work with us to provide the day-to-day support on our telecommunications systems and to support the implementations of new systems and technologies. The role will also be the key lead for these technologies providing expert advice and knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team of telecommunication technicians who provide day-to-day operational support to the Health Board and work on a range of projects. Therefore, any exposure to ITIL based best practices and PRINCE2 would be advantageous.

Educated to degree standard with evidence of professional development the successful candidate will require technical skills in the following areas:

  • Cisco switching technologies and equipment especially the NEXUS / Catalyst ranges
  • Cisco PRIME, ISE and DNA
  • Aruba wireless networking
  • Network authentication technologies
  • Local and wide area networking technologies
  • Experience of IP routing technologies
  • Firewalls and network security systems
  • Network monitoring (e.g. Solarwinds)
  • TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS
The successful candidate will be required to participate in the Health Board’s on-call rota providing 24x7 support.
