We have an amazing opportunity in Ilfracombe for a Senior HR Advisor to support the Senior HR Manager, at our Ilfracombe Manufacturing Plant to lead and promote perfection in delivery of all operational HR processes including Talent Development, Performance Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Health and Wellbeing and Engagement.

This role will support the Senior HR Manager at our Manufacturing Plant to lead and promote perfection in delivery of all operational HR processes including Talent Development, Performance Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Health and Wellbeing and Engagement.

You will work with the Senior HR Manager to drive strategic priorities, objectives and targets on site and partner key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in associate engagement. You will guide and mentor people leaders in matters of employee relations.

You will also have the opportunity to chip in to HR projects to support the HR strategy and HR programmes in the UK and across Pall.

Main duties:
  • Pro-actively assist and advise all Managers on human resource issues, in accordance with employment law, best practice, policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection of employees in line with the talent plan.
  • Implementation of contractual changes and updates, ensuring timely completion inline with payroll deadlines.
  • Assist in the Growth & Development of associates by promoting the talent processes and ensuring managers are supported to coach and develop their team.
  • Support change management activities as and when they occur, ensuring effective employee communication and engagement is maintained.
  • Ensure company absence management policy is adhered to and applied consistently. Advise managers on absence issues, ensuring long-term corrective solutions.
  • The compilation of a monthly report outlining key HR activities, trends and progress against targets and site/department objectives as well as ensuring visual management displays are updated where appropriate.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures are communicated appropriately; ensuring key information is passed on in an effective manner.
  • Coordinate the annual Performance Appraisal Scheme for all employees to ensure the continued development of employees.
  • Coordinate the utilisation of Wellbeing Provision including Occupational Health, Osteopath and Counselling.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of employee data held in the computerised HR system.
  • Support of Company kronos system, for absence management and holiday tracking.
  • Provide advice and support to associates on HR and employment matters including policy interpretation.
  • Coordinate and assist with onsite engagement activities, including being an active member in the onsite engagement groups.
  • Ensure that HR information is kept up to date, and in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, including maintenance of personnel files, electronic and paper.

Knowledge & Key Skills:
  • Solid understanding of employment law and practice.
  • Respectful, conscientious and a sound sense of confidentiality.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including listening and counselling and the ability to positively influence.
  • Continuous improvement attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to track and resolve issues promptly.
  • Able to handle a large workload and prioritize conflicting requirements optimally.
  • Ability to establish relationships across the sites and network with wider organisation.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace accurately.
Qualifications/Education:
  • CIPD qualified level 7
  • Degree level education OR equivalent experience
Previous Experience:
  • At least 5 years previous Human Resources experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of supporting in disciplinary/grievance hearings up to dismissals.
  • Experience of delivering training courses (preferable)
  • Experience of leading projects (preferable)
