About You

You should have several years experience working in a product-driven, agile environment. A record of delivering quality products is essential, and you should be able to demonstrate good knowledge in Front-End development, with a focus on HTML, CSS3, modern JavaScript, and a JavaScript framework (preferably Vue.JS).

Whilst experience helps, passion is imperative. The company is looking for people that enjoy what they do, strive to be the best, and care about quality, well-written, and well-structured code. Testing isn’t a dirty word in their business. It’s the cornerstone of what they do.

Technology Stack Used
  • Ruby on Rails, Vue.JS 3, Modern JavaScript (>ES6) & Typescript, MariaDB or MySQL.
The Role
  • Working within a cross-discipline Scrum team to achieve sprint goals and longer-term department and company goals;
  • Working closely with Support and Product teams to deliver high-quality software that supports the achievement of Company goals, and increases customer satisfaction and retention;
  • Conducting code reviews, contributing to project architecture, and implementing features/solving bugs;
  • Helping Software Engineers in their pursuit of departmental goals;
  • Mentoring colleagues and helping the whole team improve their skills and processes;
  • Helping colleagues to deliver the highest levels of internal & external customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Contributing code that is of a standard that wouldn’t necessarily need to be reviewed;
  • Taking substantial features from concept to production;
  • Improving product security, quality, maintainability, and performance;
  • Implementing features, bugfixes, enhancements, and system designs;
  • Conducting code reviews, providing meaningful feedback for other engineers and gating quality in the projects;
  • Contributing to Scrum events;
  • As a team, delivering on what was committed to at the beginning of each Sprint;
  • Provide deep expertise in at least one programming environment;
  • Provide basic knowledge and proficiency in at least one additional programming language.
