The Opportunity: As Financial Analyst, you will primarily be responsible for analysing the group’s financial data. Working within a small Financial Reporting team, you will deal with large data sets performing variance analysis and assist with budget production, providing valued insight to help with the continued growth and development of the company. Some of the key responsibilities for this successful individual would be but no limited to:-Coordinating the completion of the monthly management accounts and conducting variance analysis against budget.
  • Assist in the production of the groups budget, working closely with the Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Director to maintain an up-to-date forecast.
  • Ownership of the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy of records and appropriate scheduling is conducted.
  • Perform Cost Centre analysis, working in conjunction with department leads reviewing spend and setting appropriate budgets.
  • Investigate product profitability and complete pricing reviews. Providing the leadership team and the product team with financial information to access the financial validity of our product suit.
  • Support the Financial Reporting Manager with annual audits, working alongside our chosen auditors to meet desired deadlines.
  • Working with the Financial Analyst to maintain VAT compliance and ensuring accuracy of returns.
  • Assist with the implementation of data controls to promote healthy data and mitigate group risks.
  • Other ad hoc reporting tasks facilitating the reporting requirements of the team. The Candidate: The successful Financial Analyst will be/have: Technically competent and diligent. You will have a data led approach and be able to report accurately on the financial performance whilst using the data to inform and develop future activity. You will be capable of prioritising and managing a busy workload.
  • Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant - (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Financial reporting experience
  • Big Data experience with excellent working knowledge of Excel
  • Diligent with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Use of Sage 200 would be nice, but not essential
