If you are an experienced Fibre residential installations engineer looking for your next step up then take a look at this new role!

As a Senior Fibre Installations Engineer, you will support the installations manager in the effective and timely installations of daily fibre to the property whilst training and developing a team of trainee fibre installation engineers.

Your role will consist of using both underground and overhead methods and working on the BT PIA network. You will also be responsible for locating and rectifying customer faults.

A DBS check will be required and conducted by the company.
A full clean UK driver’s license is required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Installations of fibre for both residential and small business customers
  • Ability to find and correct faults on an XGSPON network
  • To perform fibre splicing when required
  • To rod & rope if required
  • To train, mentor and develop new installation engineers to high standards
  • To be able to lead by excellence
  • Fault finding and rectification of residential and small business faults
  • Ensure a very high standard of customer experience is met
  • To be polite and punctual and to represent MS3 to the highest standard

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Able to train and support new residential installation engineers
  • Good customer facing skills
  • Able to produce high standards of work
  • Ability to comprehend Job Packs
  • Ability to understand and meet requirements of Risk assessments
  • Knowledge of XGSPON technologies and architectures
  • Understanding of telecoms civils & cabling networks
  • Fusion splicing
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Working at height from ladders and MEWPs
  • Fibre Splicing & Testing
  • Splicing external and internal fibre joints
  • Rodding and roping
  • Cabling in underground environments
  • Electronic data capture and transfer of all work completed.
  • Working to timescales
  • Ability to identify on site risks to personnel and equipment

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK driver’s License preferably clean
  • SA001 Safety Overhead including joint user pole Benefits
  • SA002 Safety Underground
  • S7 PIA Cable instillation underground
  • S8 PIA Cable instillation Over head
  • IPAF

Desired Skills & Experience

  • NRSWA
  • Accredited qualifications in fibre installation
  • Ability to read and understand GIS designs
