Senior Estates Manager – The Arium - PO6

We are seeking a commercially astute and collaborative individual for the Senior Estates Manager role. In this role you will manage, promote and develop the facilities at Leeds City Council’s horticultural nursery, The Arium. The Arium offers fantastic facilities to its visitors including a café, retail and a new outdoor play area, along with a high quality horticultural range.

Multiple parts of the service operate from the site and as Senior Estates Manager, you will provide overall site management and ensure that appropriate health and safety arrangements are in place.

Good horticultural knowledge is essential, as is the ability to provide customer-focussed, effective and efficient services. You will provide advice and direction on horticulture, retail and hospitality related activity as well as leadership on the statutory provision for allotment sites. You will also support the Head of Commercial and Estates in sharing best practice across the service and in managing and reviewing relevant lease and licence arrangements with third party outlet operators.

You will be committed to the council values and behaviours and use your leadership skills to actively promote equality, diversity and inclusivity across the service.

This is an exciting time to join our service and work as part of the Climate, Energy and Green Spaces management team to achieve our ambition to become the best city in the country.

If you would like to speak to someone about this post, please contact Sonya McDonald, Head of Commercial and Estates on 0113 3788693.

Closing date: 23rd July 2023
