Senior Defendant Paralegal

The Legal Services Unit within AXA Insurance is responsible for conducting litigation on behalf of AXA policyholders. We are now looking for an additional Litigator to defend a portfolio of claims brought against AXA and its customers. Central to the role is to ensure a high success at trial and to deliver good commercial outcomes for AXA and its customers and to deliver benefit to AXA by reducing indemnity costs to AXA. This is a full-time, permanent role where you can work from home for most of the time.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Defending proceedings brought against AXA and or its policy holders.
• Ensuring deadlines are met throughout the various stages of the claim
• Handling claims to the required quality standard and within the agreed timelines as per the KPI’s set.
• Achieving the required technical and customer service audit scores.
• Promptly negotiating Personal Injury Claims.
• Discrediting credit hire claims
• Preparing statements and drafting instructions to counsel.
• Mentoring and technical development of junior staff

What We Need:

• Litigation experience of credit hire/personal injury experience
• Very good working knowledge of the Pre Action Protocols.
• Very good working knowledge of the Road Traffic Act to assist in the performance of the role.
• Strong knowledge of the Court’s procedures
• Very good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, including Part 36 offers and CRU.
• Strong knowledge of PI/Credit Hire.
• Ideally with a Law degree and LPC.
• Strong communication skills
• Interrogative interviewing techniques and witness statement taking
• Effective time management
• Team player
