£27,000 Per annum plus £6,200 for LWA

HMP Thameside is a privately run prison estate located in Southeast London. The prison is a remand establishment operated by Serco Ltd.

To carry out the administrative processes within the Custody Function at HMP Thameside.

The role reports directly to the Custody Managers and involves the checking and compilation of various mandated processes within the Custody Department. The job holder will act as deputy to the Custody Manager and will be responsible for checking and completing the management checks for releases.

This is a non-operational job with no line management responsibility.

Some of the duties will include:
Organise, produce, and maintain accurate records for the area of work
Undertake the transactional activity associated with the Custody Department function.
Ensure completion of mandatory daily task lists and these have been fairly allocated within the team
Will hold responsibility for checking and ensuring compliance with Sentence Calculation PSIs.
Completing immediate release checks from court
Completing 2-day release checks when required
Ad hoc roles and responsibilities as required

These duties and responsibilities are not intended to be exhaustive. The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level in line with the business needs.

What you need to do for the job:
It is essential that you are advance sentence calc trained.
It is important you have previous experience of working in a related role in a similar position or organisation.
Previous experience of working within a busy administration office.
Having strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
