Vetting & Onboarding Administrator

Hybrid – Attached to Phoenix House, Liverpool
Full Time, 12- and 6-Month Fixed Term Opportunities Available
Up to £22,500 per annum

Here at Serco, we are seeking a Vetting & Onboarding Administrator to administer processes for current and new employees, ensuring Serco’s compliance to screening and vetting requirements across a variety of regulations.


In this key role you will ensure a great experience for new employees joining Serco. You will also work with key internal stakeholders to provide advice to employees, line managers and HR colleagues.

As part of this you’ll:


  • Process Vetting and Security Clearances, for Serco employees and sub-contractors
  • Provide support to Serco Hiring Managers to encourage a smooth candidate onboarding journey
  • Request and oversee supplier’s delivery of criminality checks, supporting line managers with application of relevant legislation
  • Check employee’s right to work and support employees and line managers with visa processes in accordance with UK Visa and Immigration guidance
  • Set up employee Occupational Health checks and monitor completion, updating employee line manager where checks are non-compliant
  • Deal with enquiries and reviews, making sure that employees and contractors hold the correct level of clearance for the work they are/will be involved in and sites they will work at or visit
  • Obtain personal and employer references to meet screening requirements


What you’ll need to do the role:


  • Demonstrable experience of using multiple systems with accurate data input
  • Excellent administration skills and use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of UK Visa and Immigration right to work legislation is desirable
  • Vetting and Screening process exposure is desirable
  • Experience of Recruitment, Onboarding or HR processing is desirable
  • A BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check is required to undertake the role
