Job Overview

Would you like the opportunity to specialise in critical care and work in a progressive, ward based and patient focused Pharmacy service?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team and work with the lead clinical pharmacist for critical care in the expansion and provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to our expanding critical care unit. The post holder will spend the large majority of their time working with the critical care team at Musgrove Park Hospital.

Is this the ideal role for you?

Are you a UK registered Pharmacist with a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy.

Do you have demonstrable hospital pharmacy experience delivering clinical pharmacy practice at an advanced level with clinical pharmacy experience of general medicine and surgery?

If you answered yes to these questions then we would love to hear from you! Previous experience of training and mentoring pharmacy staff would also be an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Do you want a key leadership role that still allows you that important work-life balance?

This is a key role; supporting safe and effective medicines provision for patients on the critical care unit.

You will help lead a team of pharmacists, technicians and assistants acting as an exemplar in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and medicines optimisation.

You will also be involved in multi-disciplinary improvement project work and clinical audit.

You will be involved in measuring key performance indicators to ensure the continued development and sustainability of our high quality clinical pharmacy service.

Working for our organisation

Do you want to work for an impressive pharmacy department, where the service design allows you to spend more time using your clinical skills?

Our department works specific times and as such we can offer you the work-life balance you deserve.

Our purpose built pharmacy department is modern and spacious and our automated dispensary and lean service design means you will spend more time using your clinical skills. A user friendly, electronic prescribing and medicines administration system is in place throughout the organisation with electronic patient records in the critical care unit.

Would you like to work in one of the most desirable places within the UK?

You can soak up all that the idyllic countryside has to offer with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone’s throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You get to experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan – there is truly something for everyone!
