King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Fellows to join our team in General Surgery on the Princess Royal University Hospital site. King’s is part of King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), a pioneering collaboration between King’s College London, and Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts.

The responsibilities of the Senior Clinical Fellow will be to contribute to the day-to-day management of patients in operating lists and out-patient clinics.

The General Surgery service is a single Trust service and though it is envisaged that the post will primarily be based at the Princess Royal University Hospital site near Bromley, the role will include participation in clinics at other satellite locations and attendance at the colorectal surgery MDM and some other meetings at King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill.

This role is an integral role among a large team of over forty consultants and doctors including eight consultants, six trainee registrars, nine foundation trainees and nineteen other grades including junior and senior clinical fellows and specialty doctors.

The team provides cover for a busy 24 hour emergency department on a rota basis (currently a 1:16) and this role will be expected to be part of those cover arrangements.

Excellent Postgraduate facilities and training opportunities exist for the post holders.

Working at the PRUH site will provide a good opportunity to participate in the work of a busy District General Hospital in an attractive area of North Kent. There are good links to London, with two main line stations positioned equidistantly to the hospital and linked by regular bus services. The area is very close to the lovely Kent countryside and has the benefit of a desirable residential property selection and many good and outstanding local schools.

The hospital has the benefit of a shop, two restaurants and a coffee shop and is located within a small shopping area which also includes many external restaurants.
