As a result were now looking for an experienced, super talented Senior Character Artist to join our Studio in Middlesbrough. As a Senior Character Artist at Double Eleven, youll be specialising in creating a diverse range of wonderful characters using all of the latest art production techniques and be a critical part of scheduling as well as mentor fellow artists.

We have developed a strong reputation for technical skill; most recently we helped bring Minecraft Dungeons and Rust: Console Edition to millions of players around the world.

Initially youll work remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic and when our team returns to the studio, youll set up camp at our HQ in Middlesbrough, UK. Currently Double Eleven is working effectively remotely and we continue to assess the Covid-19 situation, with the safety of our staff as our top priority. Were still actively recruiting and onboarding new staff and will provide you with everything you need to join remotely.

WOULD YOU ENJOY

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

  • Specialising in the creation of a wide variety of 3D character models, which could also include skins, props and environment pieces
  • Working in our own and other multi-platform game engines, with a diverse range of titles and art styles
  • Produce rich materials and shaders that complement and enhance the 3D models
  • Work closely with the Lead Artists to deliver and maintain the established art style
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to issues related to asset creation, performance, and technical requirements
  • Work well within the team environment and be able to initiate and lead other team members Independently undertake research and information to ensure game design needs and artistic direction are met
  • Proactively stay up on new software, processes and industry trends and share the knowledge with the team
  • Must be honest and operate at a high level of integrity, team spirit and drive

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

  • A strong portfolio illustrating proficiency as a Senior Character Artist
  • Advanced experience with real-time 3D packages such as Unreal or Unity
  • Strong experience in a game production environment
  • Excellent understanding of human anatomy and posing characters
  • Expert understanding of Maya/Max, Z-Brush, Substance Painter
  • Solid experience generating PBR materials and shaders
  • Professional experience working on current generation games
  • Effective communicator with art staff, team leads, and other studio disciplines
  • Highly motivated and proactive, consistent productivity with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage, collaborate and contribute effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written

Double Eleven Limited is a full-service publisher and developer, with our head office located in Middlesbrough and a second office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Since becoming an independent publisher, Double Eleven has focused on bringing great games to new platforms and audiences including titles from the PixelJunk series, Prison Architect, and Goat Simulator. Double Eleven has also developed a strong reputation for technical skill, working on external titles such as the Lego Harry Potter series (PS4/XB1/Switch), Limbo (Vita) Crackdown 3 (Windows 10). Recently we bought Minecraft Dungeons (Switch, PS4 & Xbox One) to players around the world in partnership with Mojang and Microsoft and in June 2021, co-developed and published Rust: Console Edition with FacePunch.
