Ty Mor Young Persons Accommodation Service & Emergency Accommodation (“pop up” service) for Children and Young People

There is growing awareness of the impact Adverse Childhood Experiences have on children and young people and the need for trauma informed services and approaches which take into account all aspects of service delivery.

As an authority BCBC have taken a lead with the development and implementation of Trauma Informed models of practices for children and young people who have complex needs, experienced family and placement breakdowns, and for whom ‘traditional’ models of support, accommodation and housing options have not been suitable

Adult and Children’s services have been working in partnership developing innovative approaches and support models; we have an established, bespoke accommodation for young care leavers (18-21yrs) and more recently the development of an emergency accommodation provision for children and young people who need intensive, therapeutic support and interventions

As part of our progression pathway for these services we are seeking to expand our team and appoint a Senior Behaviour Specialist. The successful candidate will be key to increasing the opportunities we provide, meeting the emotional and wellbeing needs of the children and young people needing our support and providing the “right support at the right time”

Partnership working will be essential to the success of these services and you will be expected to work with both Adults and Children’s services ensuring effective relationships are developed and maintained with key stakeholders and partner agencies including Social Workers, Safeguarding Teams, education and other specialists when required.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
