Analytical Scientist (Technical R&D)

GW Pharmaceuticals seek an Analytical Scientist with a scientific degree and relevant practical experience in an analytical chemistry setting within industry or academia. You will join a team of motivated scientists within R&D and play a vital role in delivering our highly promising pipeline. You will report to a team leader and provide a range of analytical support to projects as required.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform experimental analysis of project samples across a variety of analytical chemistry techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, NMR, KF etc. to support all aspects of pharmaceutical development as required.
  • Record all experimental work appropriately and take responsibility for the accurate processing of experimental results.
  • Communicate results and their context regularly and effectively to the wider project team and department using a variety of methods.
  • Work to the required Health and Safety and Quality Compliance standards at all times.
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods for pipeline candidates across a range of analytical chemistry techniques.
  • Design and execute experimental studies such as stability protocols in support of regulatory filings.
  • Contribute to the analytical development package for our candidates by authoring and reviewing technical reports as required.
  • Solve analytical chemistry challenges on projects as they arise, using your technical expertise and experience.
  • Embrace a collaborative research and development setting by committing to continuously learn and evolve your technical and soft skills, and by passing on your knowledge and experience through the coaching and mentoring of others.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and participate in instrument qualification activities.
Role Requirements:

  • Recent practical lab experience and sound theoretical knowledge of HPLC analysis.
  • Highly advantageous to have wide technical experience in small molecule pharmaceutical analysis.
  • The ability to work flexibly in a dynamic and fast-changing environment and the ability to adapt and change plans in response to the environment.
  • Track record of delivering high quality work to tight timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues interfacing with analytical chemistry such as synthetic organic chemists, formulation scientists, quality assurance etc.
