About the role

Our ideal candidate will have excellent teamwork and communication skills, boundless patience and resilience and the ability and enthusiasm to make a difference with pupils who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, someone with diverse experiences, as well as a passion for working with young people with additional needs.

Main duties will include:

To assist the delivery of outstanding lessons, leading to significant progression and attainment for all pupils.

To actively implement the school’s behaviour policy and systems in order to assist the delivery of outstanding education to our students.

Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils

Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion

Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement

About the school

The schools are looking to recruit experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work with children with barriers to learning Working across both Primary and Secondary range as a part of an established team, the desired SEN Teaching Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). These full time SEN Teaching Assistant roles are long term ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

They provides a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum appropriate to the needs of each child or young person, taught and assessed through individual learning programmes. They aims to develop each individual’s self esteem, self awareness and confidence and provides all pupils with relevant opportunities and experiences to help them understand being part of a wider community.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Experience of working with children or adults with SEND.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Be available to work 5 days a week

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Relevant experience of working directly with children with SEND
