Pay from £385 - £410 per week

Teaching Personnel are one of the United Kingdom’s largest education staffing suppliers. We work very closely with three schools in Carmarthenshire who are all looking to take on full-time members of staff to assist with new pupils who have started this academic year.

The needs of the pupils can vary, so your 1:1 placement will depend on your previous skills and preferences. Some pupils have behavioural needs, some have additional learning needs. Overall though, the Ethos of these schools remain the same, encouraging staff to be proactive and provide a great platform for child development.

Roles & Responsibilities

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing emotional support and mentorship to vulnerable young children
  • Being an integral part of the teacher’s plan for each term
  • Building close bonds with the students and staff members in the school
  • Taking note of any potential safeguarding incidents and reporting to the designated safeguarding officer
  • Being a part of group excursions and day trips

The Ideal Candidate will have one or more of the following:

  • Prior experience in the care & support sector – particularly working with vulnerable adults with learning difficulties, or working with individuals with personal care requirements (peg feeding & manual handling)
  • A qualification in Psychology, Child Development or Health & Social Care
  • An interest in outdoor activities – whether this be being a part of a local football/rugby/netball team or other sport activity
  • Someone with a history of voluntary work
  • Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant
