Job DescriptionShare Share ShareRole: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: BoltonStart: SeptemberDuration: ongoing (possibility of permanent)Pay: £79-90per day (Dependent on previous experience)We currently work with a school based in Bolton town centre, easily accessible by public transport. The school has a need for two Teaching Assistants to join their team on an ongoing basis to support children with autism, ADHD and SEMH (Social emotional and mental health)The ideal candidate will have either professional or personal experience of working with children with these needs and can demonstrate at the interview how you would work with the children to help them to access the curriculum along with the other children in their class.Typically, an SEN Teaching Assistant will work in a mainstream classroom but be assigned to one child or a small group of children who may require closer support and supervision. They may have different learning styles and behaviour in the classroom and you will have to adapt your behaviour management strategies to deal with challenging situations.You Will
  • Assist the teacher with class preparation
  • Support individual children with their learning; reading, writing, integration in class
  • Provide behaviour managment to minimise classroom disruption
  • Participate/ support in practical work such as painting, drawing, crafts and sport
  • Uphold safeguarding rules
