Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: £80 to £90 per day

Location: Barnstaple

Start From: ASAP

Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-time

GSL is proud to be working exclusively with lovely SEN Primary and Secondary Schools in Barnstaplewhich are seeking full-time SEN Teaching Assistants to start ASAP.

Role And Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and challenging behaviors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class)
  • Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days
  • Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values
  • Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, challenging behaviors
  • Full-time 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • 1:1 and small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient! - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding!
  • Experience working within a SEND/SEMH school (not essential)
  • A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK Licence and access to car
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
