Job Description

Are you looking to take your first steps in the Security industry or looking to start a new career in Security?

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Security Officer to join our dynamic and hard-working team on a permanent basis.

The role is to provide security services at the Stena Line Holyhead location on a full-time basis. Protecting the customer’s employees, property and other assets in line with the relevant Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements.

You will be working alongside other Officers at the Port, as well as the Stena Line employees and contractors, in order to ensure the area and the people within it are kept the safest they can be.

As the role of a Maritime Security Officer you will:

Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions

Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate

Provide health and safety support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors

Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times

Minimum 40 hours per week

Additional Information

A Maritime Security Operative is required for search procedures within the Port in Holyhead. This role will encompass all day-to-day duties of an Officer on the Port, as well as conducting vehicle, freight, and person searches upon anyone entering the Port within International Shipping and Port Security legislation. This role will require Officers to work alongside each other to ensure the safety of the Port and work alongside the Port staff, Port Police, Local Authorities, and Government Agencies.

Required Skills

  • SIA Licence or willing to attain with our support
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Five-year checkable employment history.
  • Must be able to work days, nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus

Desirable Skills

  • Maritime and/or Search Officer experience
