Art/DT Technician Needed!

Are you an enthusiastic Art/Design Technology Technician looking for a new role?

Maternity Cover- 6 weeks (with the potential to extend)

Required from September 2021

Salary range: £70 - £80 a day

Under the supervision and control of the teacher/curriculum leader, the successful candidate is to aid and support in the multi-ranging areas of Art and Design Technology.

Job Role

To prepare resources for practical lessons that meet both the health and safety standards and requirements of the classes involved. The successful candidate will be based in the faculty of Art and Design Technology.

The main areas that will need support are in:

  • Art- clay work
  • Assisting the Teacher with preparing for lessons
  • Preparing resources and materials
  • Assisting in Design Technology and the GCSE specifications

The successful candidate should be:

  • Flexible, the role may change due to demands of the timetable.
  • Able to work as part of a team of staff and technicians.
  • Confident in preparing clay materials and firing ceramics.
  • Have some knowledge of Design Technology- CAD/Laser Cutters and ICT packages that are used in schools i.e. Photoshop.
  • A ‘willing to succeed’ attitude to support students and staff.
