Food & Beverage at the zoo includes fast food restaurants, coffee shops, kiosks, a warehouse, a picnic parlour and a 450 seat street kitchen serving Indonesian inspired food. We are looking for candidates who are dynamic to work across these units. The roles include customer service, waiting on, food & drinks preparation, cash handling and cleaning. Assistants may also be required to work in The Oakfield, our own contemporary British pub/restaurant which was once home to the zoo’s founder George Mottershead and his family.

The ideal candidates will:

  • be passionate about excellent customer service and be a strong communicator
  • be confident, flexible and approachable with a “can do” attitude

Experience of working within a fast paced Food & Beverage environment, as well as experience of cash handling and using EPOS systems would be advantageous.


Contracts will be offered on a minimum 8 hour per week basis (including weekends and Bank Holidays) depending on availability, but hours of work may be significantly more during busy periods.

Candidates must be aged 16 or over and have completed their Year 11 studies.
