Your role is at the core of everything BMT does. You will help us craft technically creative and significant web applications for customers around the world, developing your skills and career in a supportive environment.

What’s the role?

As part of our ambitious growth plans, new and exciting roles are being created within our expanding Information Systems team. You will join an energetic multi-disciplinary team, delivering bespoke services using web technologies in the space, defence and security sectors. You will collaborate with UX designers, software developers, test specialists, data scientists and other technology SMEs, sharing your skills, knowledge and learning to deliver solutions that allow our clients to make important decisions.

We are now looking for new Scrum Masters with practical experience of coaching high-performing teams, engaging directly with customers and users to understand their problems, and helping to shape and deliver elegant solutions to those problems.

We can be flexible on both working pattern and location and we’re happy to offer hybrid-remote working too. As well as our main offices in central Bath we also have offices in Plymouth, Portsmouth, Weymouth and London. Some travel to customer sites or to attend meetings may be required.

What are we looking for?

We build our teams around passionate engineers with curious minds, and your role will be vital in helping us innovate and iterate towards great dynamic web systems for our customers. Some of those customers may be new to Agile and used to other ways of working, so you will need to be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and adaptable, tailoring our processes where necessary to meet their specific challenges.

We are excited to work with you because you are an enthusiastic and inquisitive communicator, collaborator and implementer. As servant-leader to an agile, responsive development team, you will have one eye on the various tasks currently in play and another on the wider customer vision. You will guide the team in refining, designing, testing and releasing quality software, pushing them to continuously improve and automate development processes wherever possible. You will work closely with customers and Product Owners to meet the changing needs of their users, and support delivery managers by identifying risks and contributing to formal audits to maintain our accreditation. Our projects cross into areas as diverse as Mixed-Reality immersive training, AI and Machine Learning, Big Data and Cyber security, so you could get the chance to work on some extremely novel projects and explore new disciplines.

The successful candidates will need to hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance at SC level.
