Science Teacher

Location: Ashington, Northumberland

Salary: £110 - £170 per day

Start Date: Immediately

Overview

GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Science Teacher for an immediate start in Ashington, Northumberland. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to the scientific curiosity and understanding of students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adhering to the national curriculum.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes enthusiasm for Science and caters to a variety of learning styles and needs.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies, particularly focusing on supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Employ robust assessment techniques to monitor student progress, setting targets and providing feedback that encourages academic excellence.

Requirements:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, recognized in the UK.
  • A strong specialism in Science, with a thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively, ideally with experience in supporting SEMH needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • A detailed CV that covers the last ten years of employment history, without any unexplained gaps.
  • Skilled in differentiating lesson plans to ensure all students can access and engage with the curriculum.
