We have a great new opportunity for a passionate Science Teacher (or Teacher in training) to join an award-winning independent education setting based in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be designing and implementing Science lessons mainly at Key Stages 3 and 4 level to young people 11+ with special educational needs. The setting offers a commitment to work/life balance with a half day per week to plan and mark, freedom to be creative, approachable leadership and very small class sizes with support. A recent survey amongst teaching staff showed high levels of fulfilment and happiness within their roles. We are looking for a candidate who views teaching holistically and wants to add clear value to the lives of their students.

‍Responsibilities include:‍

  • Design and implement the Science curriculum mainly at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Teach 30 students over a typical school week with 2-8 pupils per class
  • Creating science-related lessons and experiments to capture the interest of pupils
  • Encourage students’ passion for learning to ensure pupil progress.
  • Differentiate tasks and strategies to meet each pupil’s needs

Requirements‍

  • Full QTS ideal but part-qualified considered
  • Successful teaching experience
  • Passion for making a difference and a keen interest in Science
  • Science related Degree or A Levels
  • Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour
