Your New Company

This secondary school is based in Skelmersdale and due to an upcoming maternity leave, they are looking to appoint a Science Teacher from May 2023 to commit to a 1 year contract. This role will report into the Head of Department and you will be joining a welcoming Science department where you will be fully supported by colleagues and SLT.

Your new role

Joining the school at May Half Term, if not earlier, you will be responsible for teaching Science at KS3 & KS4 becoming an integral part of the Science department. Duties will include planning and preparation of lessons, delivery of lessons ensuring a positive learning environment and then completing the marking and assessment of pupils work. You will teach mixed ability pupils and will be teaching both practical and theory lessons with the support of a Science Technician in the department. As this is a long term role you will assume full teaching responsibility and this will include attending parents evenings and additional school functions.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess Qualified Teacher Status and have experience teaching Science to KS4. You will be available to start at May Half Term and be willing to commit to a 1 year contract, or as a minimum until summer.
