An ideal part time role for people with good skills dealing with children and young people.
As a Passenger Assistant, your role would be to accompany children and young people (4 - 25 years of age) who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), on their journey to and from school/college or other educational establishments. Transport and a professional driver are provided - your role is to be responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of the children and young people while they are being transported between home and school. Therefore, you will be able to work on your own initiative and have a genuine interest in supporting children and young people.

Working on behalf of Plymouth City Council within their Transport and Allowances team, the working hours for approximately 5-10 hours per week during term time only. This position has a pay rate of £9.50 per hour. Flexibility will be required as hours vary and in line with school/college opening and closing times You will need to be available between approximately 7.00 - 9.30 and 2.30 - 5.15

You would preferably live near to a school located in areas of Thornbury, Ernesettle, St Budeaux or Central Plymouth. This is key as Passenger Assistants are picked up and returned home by the school transport vehicle throughout the route. It is also imperative that you are able to wear a face mask and use PPE provided, in line with COVID-19 guidelines.

Full training will be provided, no experience is necessary. We You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS (police background) check prior to commencing employment.
