Finance Manager/Bursar

Contract: Permanent

Salary: G6, £32,910 per annum, rising to £35,745 per annum through annual increments

Hours: 37 per week,all year round (term time only, plus additional weeks in the holidays may be considered for the right candidate)

Due to the promotion of our current Business Manager to the central finance team within The Olympus Academy Trust, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised, self-motivated and enthusiastic school Finance Lead/Bursar to join our supportive and hardworking Team.

The Olympus Academy Trust is a partnership of schools, currently comprising nine South Gloucestershire schools; one all-through, three secondary and five primary academies. The Finance Manager will be based within main school at Winterbourne Academy.

The Finance Manager will lead and manage all aspects of the schools finance function and line manage and direct a finance team of four. They will work closely and collaboratively with the Trust’s central finance department as well as the academy Senior Leadership Team.

The Finance Manager will also share responsibility of monthly Payroll updates and reconciliation with the academy Human Resources Lead.

The successful candidate will have experience as a Finance Manager/Bursar or a similar role with a proven track record in financial management and managing projects and people. They will understand the challenges of budgeting in the education environment and have experience of driving change to improve the business.
