Grade 4
39 wks Term time only
Permanent: 35hrs per week: Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:00pm

Main purposes of the job:

  • Under the instruction of senior staff and SBM, provide routine general, clerical, administrative support to the school admin team
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

Main responsibilities and tasks:
Organisation
  • To undertake reception duties, answering telephone, face-to-face enquiries and signing in visitors
  • To manage general office filing systems for documentation, policies etc
  • Assist with arrangement for school trips, after school clubs, school events and visitors e.g. school nurse, photographer and specialist staff.

Administration:
  • Provide routine clerical support e.g. photocopying, filing, e-mailing, complete routine forms/milk and EYFS funding claims and other grants, processing orders and respond to enquiries at the office window
  • Maintain manual and computerised records/ management information systems (SIMS, SchoolMoney, Class Dojo)
  • Undertake typing, word processing and other ICT based tasks including updating the school’s communication platform
  • Undertake routine administration e.g. registers/school meals register/assessment databases and data entry along with some bulk photo-copying
  • Manage all aspects of after-school clubs organisation (Clubby)
  • To support the SLT with meeting arrangements including SENCo.
Resources:
*Operate office equipment/ ICT (Microsoft) software packages, Office along with photocopiers, computer and printer maintenance/ orders and metering etc
  • Undertake general financial administration, via School Money and on occasion trip and other school payments.

Responsibilities:
*Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, security, confidentiality and GDPR, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • To adhere to school health and safety policy including risk assessment and safety systems
  • To adhere to school policy on equality and diversity
  • To contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school
  • To appreciate and support the roles of other professionals in particular senior staff and SENCo
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings (as required)
  • Participate in training opportunities and professional development as required
  • Undertake any similar duties commensurate with the level of the post as required by the head teacher and SBM
  • Respond effectively to changing priorities.
