OVERALL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:
In your role you will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to ensure our customers are happy with their experience shopping with Ryman. Your role is to assist the store manager and your colleagues with achieving sales and profit targets by maintaining the highest standard of service, following Company standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Customer Experience


  • Contribute towards making Ryman the number one High Street Stationer by providing a consistent high level of customer service
  • Suggest related sales and alternative products when necessary
  • Advise customers on the location, selection, price, use and care of goods available from the store, with the aim of encouraging them to purchase and return in the future
  • Advise the customers of the Company refund or exchange policy as appropriate
  • Accept correct payment for goods and operate the EPOS system in line with Company policy and procedure
  • Confidently and professionally handle customer complaints and difficulties, including returns, to ensure customer retention
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of products

Managing Stock Control
  • Check in goods against delivery notes as and when required
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure deliveries are put away correctly and safely
  • Promote high visual merchandising standards
  • Control and return stock in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Assist in the stocktaking as required
  • Use of security equipment such as soft & hard tags and alarm
Security, Health and Safety
  • Operate the till in an efficient manner, processing all transactions with a high regard to customer care and loss prevention procedures
  • Carry out stock replenishment and when required maintain accuracy of our stock systems in line with Company policies and procedures
  • Ensure that the security of the stock and store is maintained at all times and within agreed Company policies procedures
Team Working
  • Create a positive and fun atmosphere
  • Recognise where help is required and proactively support other members of the team
  • Contribute towards achieving the team’s goals at all times
  • Take initiative throughout the day and don’t wait to be told
  • Participate in team briefings/meetings
Increasing Sales & Profit
  • Help to achieve and maximise sales and profit budgets
  • Recognise and act upon opportunities to increase the value of sales by offering appropriate additional items
  • Develop store sales and profit through effective use of product displays, promotions, point of sale, stock availability and in particular sales techniques and customer service
  • Propose ideas to store manager for the improvement of the store, with particular reference to merchandising and sales promotions
  • Implement promotional activity to maximise and sustain sales in the time frame required
  • Participate in all store incentives as required
Company Standards, Procedures & Policies
  • Ensure all areas of the store are kept clean and tidy through good housekeeping and safe working practices in line with the Company’s health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure security and health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times to prevent any risks
