Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Safety and Reliability engineer capable of influencing the design and development of mechanical or electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Safety and Reliability Engineer - Senior to Technical Specialist level - capable of influencing the design and development of mechanical or electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).

Location: Cheltenham, however remote working can be considered

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the business with technical oversight of its safety, reliability and supportability approach
  • Generation of typical LRU Safety and Reliability artefacts (Safety Argumentation, Safety Case, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Analysis to generate MTBF).
  • Liaise with customers, internal and external as needed.

Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of the work carried out at Ultra, all applicants must be eligible for SC Clearance.

Expectations, Background and Understanding:

PCS are looking for a Safety and Reliability engineer capable of influencing the design and development of mechanical or electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).

As this role covers a wide range of experience the successful candidate will have a good foundation in LRU Safety and Reliability engineering who is passionate about furthering their learning and development within the Safety and Reliability discipline.

With this in mind experience in some of the following areas would be advantageous, but not mandatory to be considered for this role.

  • Experience with the following Defence standards: Def Stan 00-56, 00-40, 00-45, 00-45, MIL-STD 1629, MIL-HDB 217F
  • Experience with the following Aerospace standards: ARP4761, ARP4754, CS25 and ABD100
  • Capability to review electronic design and development within a Safety and Reliability context.
  • Understanding and experience of data capture in terms of Technical Publications, Training, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) and WLC/LCC
  • Awareness of supportability aspects of a programme.
