Senior Software Engineer (C++)
Support principal engineer to review and guide the elaboration of derived software requirements at the outset of the project.
Design, code and unit test software in accordance with the company’s procedure and project specific requirements.
Implement software that is maintainable and is fit for purpose (meet the requirements).
Undertake all integration and test activities when required.

Regular verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders/customers/suppliers at an intermediate level.
Work within multi-disciplinary teams in an international context including government officials.
Handle information of a sensitive, confidential or secret nature.

Essential
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in software, computer science or software related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of software engineering full lifecycle.
  • Customer facing experience in a formal acceptance test environment.
  • Knowledge of formal requirements capture and analysis (preferably using DOORS)
  • Possessing a rigorous and methodical work pattern.
  • Self-starter and able to learn on the fly.
  • The successful candidate must have security (SC) clearance as a minimum.
  • Robust experience of UML and OO design methodologies.
  • Experience of real time designs, programming concepts and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in high level programming language ideally C++.
  • Experience in defence environment/SONAR
Desirable
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Knowledge of formal requirements capture and analysis (preferably using DOORS)
This role has been assessed as being ‘Inside IR35’ for the purposes of payment of Tax and NI, which will be deducted and paid to the HMRC at source via PAYE
