What you’ll be doing


As an RRV Planner, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Assimilating customer requirements for delivery of works
  • Planning and allocation of machinery to meet Customer requirements
  • To liaise with the OTP maintenance and operations teams as necessary
  • Liaising with Customers and third parties to ensure understanding and delivery of customers requirements
  • Updating planning spreadsheets
  • Liaising with external contractors and suppliers for resourcing needs
  • Forecasting external requirements and operational shifts
  • To provide any statistical or other information as required
  • To ensure electronic and manual filing systems/records are maintained for audit purposes.
  • Ability to supply future work plans, plant utilisation and forecasting data as required
  • To comply with all Company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
  • Instigate and contribute to cost efficient ways of delivery
  • Manage the performance of suppliers on our contracts

TASKS

  • Run with the current week planning making sure the current week work is going as planned and the weekend work is locked in
    • Make machine changes where required - breakdowns etc.
    • Make operator changes where required - absence, skill set etc.
    • Book and confirm hotels/travel with support team
    • Book and confirm cross hire where required(if needed last minute)
    • Collate all on call documents ready for the weekend and handover to the Control Centre
  • Haulage
    • Book delivery and collection of plant and equipment as per the customer requirements
    • Raise orders for the haulier
  • PPS
    • Daily complete and submit on the NwR PPS system
  • Cost control
    • Ensure Efficiencies on Planning and operational delivery costs including expenses, fuel, haulage, operational overtime,

Who we’re looking for


You will have the following:

  • Technical Skills
    • Knowledge and experience of the Railway Industry preferred
    • A good understanding and (or) experience of planning software
    • IT literate including knowledge of Microsoft systems & other databases
    • Proficient in Excel and Word
