A manufacturing company who specialises in electronic components for high technology products are looking to recruit a RF Test Engineer to work as part of a team responsible for developing test solutions for semiconductor ICs and PCB assemblies. The role is varied and requires a broad range of experience in hardware and software engineering, with experience of the full product life cycle.


Duties:

  • Develop RF test hardware, firmware, and software for the test facility.
  • Commissioning of the test facility including writing specifications and procedures.
  • Work within QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Maintain existing legacy software, fixtures and equipment (fault finding to component level).
  • Optimise and structure software and sequences to ensure efficient testing.
  • Attend and influence new product design reviews on testability features.
  • Develop and introduction of new testing methodologies for new and existing product lines.
  • Supporting reliability testing of new products and support Production with any issues.
  • Conduct statistical and trend analysis of results to guide process improvement.


Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally qualified to HND, Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience working in a product-based electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read and understand circuit schematics and diagrams
  • Must understand RF and micro-wave circuitry and design principles
  • Must be familiar with Vector Network Analysers (VNA) and Spectrum Analysers.
  • Programming Software in C, C
  • Keysight PathWave ADS, automating measurements using bench equipment, Altium PCB Designer and version control tools knowledge is preferable.
  • Relevant experience in development and schematic capture of circuits and PCB layouts is essential.
  • Experience of debugging PCBs to component level, soldering and building prototypes is essential.
  • Must have excellent communication and documentation skills.
