The home is located in the market town of Trowbridge in Wiltshire, with easy walking access to the local town centre. Our home provides residential provision for up to 52 weeks a year and is closely linked to Farleigh FE College. Farleigh FE College is based in Frome but has other residential provisions in Shepton Mallet and Frome. Our main focus is to promote the development of individual social behaviour, independence and personal skills and offering opportunities to practise these in real life settings. We pride ourselves on providing a secure, warm and supportive environment for young people to grow and build self confidence, which ensures that our young people develop a positive outlook on life in a safe, nurturing, welcoming, structured and fun environment.

Due to the requirements of this role, a full UK driving license is essential.

As part of Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. We ask that you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills, and life experience and in return we will give you all the training and support you need to progress to become a qualified Residential Support Worker and further.

Experience isn’t essential but there are a few characteristics you will need to be successful in this role:

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

Organisation – You’ll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

Caring– Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

Attentive – No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.

Please note - Rates shown apply to all new and existing staff as of 1 September
