Hobson Prior are currently working alongside a brilliant pharmaceutical corporation who are seeking for a Research Scientist - Bioscience on a contract basis. Our client is focused on providing transformative solutions.Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location and that the deadline to apply for this role is the 22nd of September 2022.Key Responsibilities
  • For this role, you will produce and uphold clear electronic experimental documents.
  • Rendering to the study plan as approved with the team leader/project supervisor, you will supply high-quality in vitro data.
  • Uphold a consciousness of present developments in the literature to assist with projects and bring forward new target concepts or new technologies/assay strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will driver personal development within oncology bioscience, autonomously recognising prospects where appropriate.
  • Offer expert comprehension of experimental data, recognising novel solutions to issues and putting forward plans for further experiments.
  • You will discuss experimental data and crucial discoveries to project teams in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements
  • Educate to a degree level in a cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or a similar discipline and a PhD or at least 1-3 years comparable appropriate laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to delivery data from the lab.
  • Knowledge in mammalian cell line tissue culture practices which involves cell line maintenance, transfection, transduction, etc.
  • Know-how of a variety of in vitro cell based & mechanistic practices and assays which involves cellular proliferation and survival assays, flow cytometry and high-content imaging.
  • Knowledge in a variety of molecular biological practices which involves molecular cloning, isolation, and analysis of nucleic acids and proteins.
  • Comprehension of cancer cell biology.
  • Acquaintance with lab-based drug discovery within an academic or pharmaceutical organisation.
  • Able to handle CRISPR gene editing and stable cell line production.
  • Comprehension of the drug discovery process.
  • Familiarity with analysing large data sets.
